www.travelocity.co.uk is the one that I have had the most success with on the whole.

Expedia used to be pretty good. Got a Cheap flight for my wife to SF when everyone else told me there were no seats or she would have to pay over the odds for first class.

After sales service was pretty good if I remember rightly aswell.

already tried expedia. i'm looking to fly into Aspen rather than get a bus from denver which would probably be cheaper but being 6ft 6in i would rather pay that bit extra and be uncomfortable for 20mins than for 4 hours! thanks for your suggestions though

I've always used either Travelocity or Expedia. Prices seem to have gone through the roof on flights since April, must be due to Sept 11 and the airlines deciding to make a profit for a change on transatlantic flights. Last October I flew to Newark, NJ from Gatwick for car show, cost was £262. This year it's going to be around £100 more.

The reason that you are getting high fares from Edinburgh to Aspen direct is that they are both low use airports, i.e. not hubs.

If you were to fly from LHR or LGW you would probably get it for about £150 less. Then into Denver would mean about the same at the other end, but hey, comfort has value especially when it comes to air travel for example economy from Atlanta to Gatwick is about £300, club is about £2500 and first is about £9000 and you just dont get 30 times the space of an economy seat!
