Two day route in North Wales
Discussion
I'm heading up to Wolverhampton to visit a friend in a couple of weeks time and if I can convince him, I think it's my best chance to take the S2000 for a trip around North Wales.
I'm hoping to put together a two day route, with an overnight stop on the coast that I can do on a single tank of fuel, so 250-300 miles including the drive from and to Wolverhampton. I've already sussed that it's about 60 miles to Llangollen on the A5 so with that stretch out of the way (both ways) I've got about 150 miles to play with
I definitely want to do the Horseshoe Pass (it's been a long time since I did that in the 106) and I'm considering the Llanberis Pass and the Evo Triangle. Also thinking about making the overnight stop in Llandudno.
Anybody got any ideas for a route?

How about Llangollen, Evo, Llanberis, West Coast on day one, then head back further south, through the Elan Valley? might need more than a tank of fuel though.
Some of my favourite roads are:
A525 Nant-Y-Garth pass, just after Horseshoe pass.
B4391 Penybontfawr - Bala
B4391 Nr Bala - Ffestiniog
B4574 Devil's Bridge - Rhayader

Decided on this route which takes in my original plans and a couple of those suggestions
Now I just need to hope for some good weather.
Going to start with the Bala side of the loop on the Friday, then the Evo/Horseshoe side on the Saturday.

alternative version of the Betws-y-coed to Llandudno sectionYou'd get to drive down the Ogwen valley

ps
The B5106 is a much more entertaining road than the A470

Back at home now after completing this on Friday. We ended up with other plans for Saturday, so this ended up being a day trip, so I had to be quite tight with the mileage and roads.
I stuck to the original plan pretty much, though with running out of time, I abandoned the run over the Horseshoe in favour of a little back road that I love. After leaving Wolverhampton at around 10:30 am, we returned at 10:00 pm, having covered 302 miles in total.
The S2000 was spot on, as was the weather. We had the top down all day long and even the windows down too most of the day. I managed to burn my neck though! The roads were all amazing and, perhaps because it was a weekday, all relatively free flowing or empty.
A particular highlight was the B4391 from Penybontfawr to Bala as mentioned above. As I came out of one of the villages, I caught a glimpse of the road going up the side of the hill and knew it was going to be epic. The main of the Llanberis pass didn't quite live up to the expectation, though the road up to the foot of the pass from Beddgelert was brilliant and the first mile or two of Llanberis were great. I loved the B4501 part of the Evo, loads of sweeping high speed corners past Llyn Brenig with the sun dimming gave me a smile on my face. Also, Nant-y-Garth surprised me, as I realised I had driven it before and it was also quite enjoyable. Even the small section of the A5 I did before hitting the triangle was enjoyable and traffic free
