How strange it all is, this passing fad.

I've seen the St George's cross flying from Japanese cars, the Union Flag flying from American cars, even the Mexican flag flying from a German car.........

Yet to see the Russian flag on a Japenese car, or vice versa (wonder why not?)

.......but I drive an English car all the time. Guess I don't feel the need for flying the flag.

What are you flying?

Just a PistonHeads sticker at the moment. I probably would get one of those England flags if I knew where to buy one.

I bought a chrome-edged union jack from the MG car club, snipped the bolt-hole flanges away and popped it on the chimaera using a double sided sticky pad, positioned on the other side of the number plate from the Chimaera badge. I think it is the business.

And all the houses with St George/Union flags hanging from the windows, but a refreshing change was a Jamacian flag hanging from one I passed today on the way to work, so what group are they in then?

Had small Union Flags fitted to the front wings of the Griff, just behind the side indicators, from new.

Don't have Union/St George on the pick-up though - it's a Nissan, and IMHO, I agree it seems if not hypocritical, certainly, contradictory on a Jap car.

I've got the same as DIGGA/YUM on my S3. I think that looks tasteful

But I bet the sales of RED PVC tape have gone through a record high with white van man plastering it all over bonnets etc

My S1 had a union jack sticker on the rear valence when I bought it and I thought it looked tacky so took it off. I knew it was home grown and couldn't care less if other people knew what it was on not

On the sumject of flag flying my fave quote of the moment.

HRH - Its nice to see so many flags flying for the jubille.
Aide - I think it might have something to with the football.
HRH - Oh!

Now preparing my Nigerian flag after furling the Argentinian one....

Maybe Lennox was right ? Should we have a "British" team in the "Worlds" (sic) cup? Might give me someone to support.....as the Tartan Army seem to be barracked at home most if not all the time......

Well done the Irish for sticking it up at Kene....

p.s. there was a small ad in my local paper last week:

"For sale, Diadora football boots, hardly worn, just too big for them, apply R Kene."

Oh, so you're one of the "Tatan Argies" are you? What sad individuals you must all be! Contrast the fact that every Englishman will be cheering for the Irish around lunchtime today, it will be fantastic for them to reach the last 16. Anyway cheer up, you've got Larson to shout for Rich...

What's the point? It would just be the English team anyway! OK Ryan Giggs would get in but who else?

Interestingly(ish), if you see colour footage of 1966, the crowd are all waving Union Flags, rather than the St Georges flags you see nowadays.

Why would it need to be colour footage?

It's just so easy to get a rise out of an Englishman...

Don't think you'll find many Scots with Saudi Arabian flags in ten minutes time......
