Jerky accelerator pedal on 355
Discussion
I am buying a 355 at the moment (nearly there!). Some of the 355's I have driven have really jerky accelerator pedals; at the point when you first depress them; and others are much smoother (like any other car). I was speaking with a well repsected specialist recently and they say there is nothing that can be done, and that the 355 I am thinking of buying is smoother than most! I have to say the jerkyness of the accelerator on the one I am thinking of buying is putting me off the 355 if there is nothing that can be done about it!!!
Does anyone else out there have a smooth moving accelerator pedal?
What can be done to rectify the situation?
Many thanks in advance.

My 355 was built in '96 and when I got it (new) the throttle was quite stiff just off idle. It was crap, no doubt about it and eventually Ferrari came out with a factory modification which was fitted and eliminated the problem pretty much. I was told that it was only something that occured with RHD cars. I had a Countach which also had a less then fabulous throttle, again apparently only a problem with RHD. Probably worth your while to ask a Ferrari Dealer/Specialist if they know about the modification and wether it has been fitted.
Mine's a bit like this - most noticeable in traffic when coming back on the power, which is tough to do smoothly.
I searched Ferraichat.com, and found some articles that indicated it might be the throttle cable catching on it's run to the back.
Could be wrong, but when I get back I'm going to get mine checked out.
