I’m having to give up and sell my Porsche. Times are hard and I can’t justify owning a car at all any more, let alone one as gorgeous and daft as mine.

I’m absolutely gutted that it’s come to this, and demand moral support from my PH friends. Or macho piss-taking. Whichever comes first.

There’s an advert in the PH classifieds, but I’ll not link to it because I know that’s naughty and will get my thread closed.

I’m away for a little cry now.

Sad to hear it.

I went through a couple of very tough years there where business became very thin and even when there was work it was unsatisfying as it had to be rushed and corners cut to make budgets work.
Thankfully it has picked up again for me.
I am sure you will bounce back, just try and keep positive and look for every opportunity.

I can sympathise, my MX-5 has been sat in my garage for 18 months now as it needs work done and there's always something more important around the house needing money spent on.

I refuse to sell it on, but I really should, it's difficult when like your car it's had time and money spent on it and is a car you know well.

Hopefully someone will give it a good home.

Jeez Tony, sorry to read this. You'll bounce back from this I'm sure stronger than before. Go kick some ass then get an Italian car wink Best wishes, Don Cripplebugger.

I had the same a couple of years ago and had to give up my beloved Tuscan - unfortunately I let it go too quickly and cheap and it turned out I could have kept it if I had toughed it out!banghead
Still, back in a nice Cerbera now, though the works drying up a bit again...boxedin

Sorry to hear this, I've been through similar. A few years ago I had to sell my beautiful 147 GTA to pay a tax bill frown Things will get better, but at the end of the day it's just a car <ouch>.

I know what you mean - I am not using mine and have put it up for sale. When it rains it doesnt bother me too much but on a sunny day like today it hurts all the more.

Cheers guys.

The way I see it, I’ve owned and enjoyed my dream car for five whole years. That’s more than most people ever manage. I’ll be gutted to see it go, but needs must.

Please do feel free to punt it around any acquaintances who might be interested. I’m sure I could run to a nice bottle of something as an ‘agent’s fee’ …

Sad days tony, after that amount of cash you spend on getting the engine and such sorted.

Any idea's for future replacement?

No replacement, I’m afraid. The whole point is that I can’t really afford to run a car for a few years.

You going cold turkey on car's now?

Sell you a practical small 4x4 with an unknown engine issue that could be ££££ to fix... hehe

Sorry to see it come to this Tony. I remember watching your thread about the body/wings, re-spray and SS exhaust. I had read about this on another forum, but thought you were only thinking about it. frown

I might not be working in Glasgow much longer, so we need to have another PH lunch before I go. smile
