Where to upload a gallery?

I have about 50 photos that I need to upload to an online gallery.

It needs to be password protected, and to allow people to purchase prints.

You can do it free with Photobox pro, I'm not sure whether they offer password protection but it doesn't seem possible to search for peoples galleries on there anyway so people will only find it if you send them the link. I use zenfolio for that sort of thing but it will cost you £100 a year I think

I too use Zenfolio which is good as it allows you to point your own domain at it so people can go to www.markmullenphotography.co.uk rather than markmullenphotography.zenfolio.com which looks a little more professional. Photoshelter also allows this. They are pretty new still and their customer service team answer you personally and promptly. HTH.
