So, am I destined to fail

Here's the story. I was supposed to be going on holiday with a few mates next week but Philip Hammond decided they would be better served standing in a carpark somewhere in east London. Stuck for something to do I decided I'd cycle end to end, I mean how hard can it be .

Train was booked yesterday for Monday and tomorrow is going to spent booking a few B&B's and buying a more comfortable saddle. I'm reasonably fit but not bike fit, I don't think my bike has seen the rain yet. Speaking of which, 28 degrees next week so maybe someone is on my side.

What are my chances? I'll keep this thread updated just in case anyone is interested, wish me luck.

As long as you start at the top of the land, rather than 'tother way, you should be OK as it's all down hill.

YEs, south to north is the "accepted" route because the wind is with you.
Don't go into the museum at LAnds end because you'll see the poster about the two guys who rode it in 9 days in 1910, when there weren't even roads or gears!

I've got one times padded shorts and a supply of sudocrem. I assume it's best to get any weight off your back, will have to investigate tomorrow.

D-1. Bike and all my kit is loaded in my brothers car for the first leg of the trip, Doncaster to reading tonight then train from Reading tomorrow morning. Excited now.

Yes probably. I've now rationalised it to 85 hours at 10mph, doesn't sound so bad then.
