Brill & The Great Train Robbery - help needed
Discussion
Next August - 2013 will be the 50th anniversary of The Great Train Robbery. It will also be the 10th Brill classic and sports car gathering To recognise this and It's links with the village ( Brill, Bucks, the location of Leatherslade farm, the robbers hideout )We are hoping to set aside an additional area of the ground for an exhibition and display of Cars from that era - especially any police, railway or Royal mail or potential getaway cars! So if anyone would be good enough to point us in the direction of any groups, clubs or individuals that might be interested we would be very grateful.
P.S. This years event is on Sunday August 26th, is combined with a beer festival, is free entry and as always if you come you will be made very welcome. see www.brillbeerfestival.co.uk to get a flavour of previous years.
Hoping you can help!

Just to remind you the train driver Jack Mills never returned to the mailine to work and as a result of his injuries suffered ill health and died soon afterwards, I see nothing to celebrate.
As per the coroner's comments, there was no need for an inquest as there was no link between the injuries Jack Mills received during the robbery and his death as far as he was concerned. Debate clearly continues as to whether Jack Mills' injuries indirectly led to his death, and it is clear that he never fully recovered from them
.Nonetheless, the Great Train Robbery is part of History now, and I can see why people might like to mark - not celebrate - 50 years since it happened
.Hi, Thanks for all your comments, We were very careful to avoid the word "celebrate" as it may have offended, but to recognise the fact that it was 50 years ago and was a part of village history seemed appropriate. That and the fact it will make a great theme for The 2013 Brill Classic and sports car gathering -Plug Plug !!
