2.0L Rossion track car

Hey everyone, not sure how many of you frequent nobleforums.com, but we've been adding pictures there of the 2.0L track car we're building.
I figured I'd share the progress here as well

This will be the 2.0L track car

Here is the 2.0L engine in full emissions trim. This is getting pulled out, and going back in as a track engine!

Side mounted intercooler


Dashboard out, and new body harness fitted, quite a bit lighter too.


Door bars welded in

Doors lost a few pounds as well.

Interior stripped of all carpet.
I figured I'd share the progress here as well

Emissions engine is out, all emissions components will be left out.

Time to give the chassis a bath.

Control arms removed, and polyurethane bushings ready to go in!


Cosworth intake manifold coated black.

Exedy stage 3 Hyper Single clutch kit and flywheel. The whole package is 11lbs lighter than the stock flywheel with Centerforce clutch.


Engine and transmission mated, ready to go in!



Turbo lock plates used to ensure nuts won't back off.

Engine being lowered into engine compartment

Plenty of clearance by the firewall

they get a bit laggy in that spec but rev very well
what ecu are you using ?
I'm sure depending on the size turbo, they can get quite laggy. There are some T2 turbos that can push that kind of power and keep the lag down to a minimum.they get a bit laggy in that spec but rev very well

We are using the stock 2.0L Ford ECU.
Hey everyone, just want to follow up with a bit more details on this 2.0L car.
The goal of the purpose built track day car is to build a highly competitive track day car that meets with FIA, SCCA and NASA safety requirements. We wish to provide our customers with a competitive base platform that they can be expanded upon, if they so desire, to race in any number of classes or sanctioning bodies. Eventually, we would like to see this car competing in the FIA Supersport and GT4 series. The customer can buy the car direct from Rossion and eventually from one of the Rossion Motorsport Dealers ready to take to the track and have fun with it. Since each one is hand built, the client can spec the car exactly to their requirements and needs. There is an endless list of upgrades already available.
So why build a 2.0L 4 cylinder single turbo track car (RP120-R)? The answer is as follows:
- A base 2.0L 4 cyl turbo car should produce between 280 and 300 wheel hp and weigh under 2000lbs.
- Easy and cheap to maintain, repair and run.
- Estimated Base 2.0L-T 300HP at the wheels retail price $69,500
- The base mode should easily be able to out handle and outperform a stock Lotus Exige S
- The car can be ordered with a drivetrain that produces 400 wheel horsepower in a 4cyl
The car can be ordered with a 3.0L twin turbo option or a 3.5L option
It is expected that a 3.7L twin turbo option in a north south configuration will be available within a year.

i suggest you consider an aftermarket ecu, should let you map it to get the best performance
There is software available to live map the Ford ecu, but we are using the stock ecu with a tune for this car to keep it a low cost purpose built track car. The 4 cylinder is about as wide as you can go if its positioned transverse in this chassis. Not enough room to run a 5 cylinder.
