Off to the Maldives in August.

Has anyone used a case for their DSLR to use underwater, or am I mad?

I've looked at a couple and the reviews are bad....

We have an EOS 400d (and a pocket Ixus).

Suggestions welcome - I dont really want to fork out for a new camera!

A full on water housing will cost you a zillion. There great but expensive. very.

You can get waterproof bag systems for a lot less (£100 I guess) these are ok, cant go so deep and tricky to change settings , but work.

Thanks, I am only going to be snorkelling...

Starting to look like a cheap underwater camera might be a more sensible (and cheaper) option...

Any recommendations welcome..

I've got a 5D MKII and really didn't to spend the money on a housing or risk taking it in the water so I bought a Fujifilm Finepix XP Water/Dust/Shock proof camera

The results were significantly better than I could have hoped for and for circa £100 well worth the money.

Shoots videos as well as still and is water proof to 15m.
