I'll be there. The guys I ride with have decided to aim for sub 3 hours so I'll be guy breathing heavily and trying to hang on to a wheel riding a black/white/yellow Merida.

I rode from Cambridge to London earlier in the year - one of the really hot days - and it was great until I got to Ware when the roads just get stupid.

Excellent; there's a couple of good wheels to suck! I intend to do no work this time after towing a cheeky sod most of the way last year. Trundling I will be; with lots of tea and cake stops

I'll be doing this on my Specialized Hardrock equiped with slicks. I have never cycled anything like this before so I won't be breaking any records. My team are going to be treating it as a bit of a pub crawl by the sound of things.

Did London-Southend last weekend and lots of guys were doing exactly this.

L2C is 75 miles isn't it?

Another very likely participant here - I've not booked it yet, so will enter on the day. The only issue is getting to London from Cambridge, is anyone going down on the train and does anyone know if there is a restriction on taking bikes on it?

Train operator Abellio Greater Anglia Ltd will be running specially strengthened trains to allow you to take your bike from Cambridge to Edmonton Green, with a change at Cheshunt. Times are:
Cambridge dep 07.32 and 07.51
Cheshunt arr 08.20 and 08.51
Cheshunt dep 08.44 and 09.14
Edmonton Green arr 08.56 and 09.26
First train departs Cambridge at 07.32

Wow what a great day this has been. Weather really turned out perfect for us.

How did everybody get on? We did it in 2:53 for just over a 20 mile per hou average.

I did it with a couple of workmates and I am whacked!

I finished in the front pair in about 3hrs 15mins but I was definitely holding my mate up, particularly at 40mi+.

In my defence I've only had a bike for a year, have never ridden more than 20mi in a single sitting before and have only had the bike out twice this year.

Great day though! Really nice roads, great weather and 0 mechanicals or punctures.

Well done to all who finished, I manage about 6 hours. 5 hours riding time and an hour regrouping our team at various rest stops on the route. I think I need to buy myself a carbon road bike next year, some of the speeds those guys got up to made me on my poor hardrock look like I was going backwards! I saw a couple of crashes though, hoping nobody was seriously injured.

Good effort. We went for non-stop then had to ride another 10 odd miles home (well to the local pub) I stood at the bar with my legs shaking like crazy, any further and I'd have bonked!

3:20 rde time taking out a cake and a pint stop - not bad for an old beater fixie Cracking fun

On the downside, Saw about 5 riders down, one looked a biggie; and think the bike-handling/roadcraft of some riders this year was shockingly bad. What's a 'line' then?

Also, there wre more than a few knobs in cars trying to kill people with banzai overtakes into crowds of riders.
