I'm after a few bits and bobs in order to make a custom exhaust manifold but I'm finding it hard to locate a local company.

I've sourced the required mild steel butt weld fittings (although quite pricey for what they are!) but I still need to find somewhere to cut the flanges for me. Would need the two turbo flanges (although I'm still undecided on which turbo) and the exhaust flange for the head. The idea is to make a 'log manifold'.

Does anyone know somewhere local that can offer these services? I'm sure I can get hold of some cad drawings or at the very least some sketches with dimensions. I guess I'm looking for a cad laser cut company of some kind?

Alternatively I can have the flanges plasma cut by a local guy but I would still need to provide the mild steel sheet (10mm thick perhaps?). No idea where I can buy this either!

Not sure where you are but the phrase you need to search for is "steel stockholders", try Yell or good ol' Yellow Ps.

As with everything else these days, there are also online suppliers, a quick google revealed www.metals4u.co.uk for example. Not used them myself but there's a starter for 10 for you.

There is a sheet metal fabricators on the industrial estate behind the old Renault garage in Aldershot, can't remember name but can drive past and get details as have customer next door.

I know this thread is a bit old, but while working on a custom project recently, I came across P&D Northern Steels ( https://pdnorthern.com ) They had a solid selection of mild steel supplies, and it saved me a lot of time wien sourcing materials.

Just thought I’d share in case anyone else is still working on similar builds or needs a reliable resource.

Hope everyone’s projects came out well
