Pretty isn't it? I'm in two minds about these early cars though, in one respect they're stunning to look at & would be a pleasure to own. But on another level, I can't help thinking that they'll be plain horrendous to drive (I've never driven one mind you).

They're actually great fun to drive, albeit harder work than a modern 911.

& therein lies the rub, I hated my 3.0, mostly due to that "harder work" you mention! wink

and that's what makes them so great, for once it is nice not to be just molly cuddled by modern gizmos and gadgets and to simply enjoy the pleasure of driving withthe rewards that it brings. The older cars have a smell and sound that modern lazy cars just can't compete with.

I'd like to buy that, hand it over to Nick Moss with a bag of cash and tell him to make it Low, Stop and Go.

You could have a serious car there for under £40k including the purchase price?

I used to wonder that too as I have not driven once either.

Although not the same thing, I drove my first 356 a few months back and was pleasently surprised by how well it drove. For a 1959 car it was a revelation. I have to imagine that the experience wasn't poorer in an early 911.

Don't SWB cars though just look wrong in my opinion.

I like the pre-impact bumper cars, but i am just not old enough to own one.

I love the look of that. Must be worth that to someone.

Agree with Craig, there's only so old a driving experience some people can handle, me included. Would love to buy that but it would have to be alongside a more modern 911 too. Great colour though. cool

But the cars you are talking about are mollycoddled, and have more gizmos and gadgets, compared to even earlier cars so who is to say what is pure driving and what isn't?

A synchro gearbox and a starter motor are a bloody pipe dream to some people biggrin

Looks good to me considering the inflated values over here. I'd want to know a bit more about the mechanicals but the bodywork looks well sorted. I'm not sure I'd want an early SWB car though. If this was a later 911T I'd be interested in buying it myself.
