Anyone for batteries

Much to my surprise my battery died and having confirmed by my own load test that it was a duffer I set about finding an affordable replacement.
Load test - fully charge battery fix good voltmeter across the battery terminals then turn on as much as possible - I did the lights inc headlights and ignition the voltage fell to 2volts in about 2 minutes which it is reasonable to assume means its duff. I did try to re-juvinate with the Optimate without success.
First problem was being sure of the correct rating. I looked at the alternate parts list and their codes seem to be obsolete ( apologies if its me being thick) . The original was a 60ah that was allegedly correct from a major motor factor Co but I checked up the 2.9 Granada and thats a 75ah. From some interweb source I came across a sizing of 70ah which is at least a good compromise in ah terms and when I searched google for a 70ah battery a surprise find. The RAC do a special offer for a Bosch S3 ( fits an S3 as well ) all delivered for £60 even came next day and included nitrile gloves. This fits the tray like a glove however the terminals are RH+ so I had to make a new earth lead. This battery is only 175mm tall so is a lower than the original.
Cant say Ive tried it yet due to the donna n blitzen here just now but seems like a good value purchase.
