installing a sub in an S3 - power queries

Hi all. I'm installing a sub in the boot of my S3 and need to run a new power source through the cabin. Two questions:
1. where's the simplest location to run a new lead through the bulk head? I've had a look under the steering column and passenger footwell but can't see an obvious point where they've trunked cables from the engine bay.
2. Is there an earthing point at the rear of the vehicle or am I going to have to run the ground to the engine bay?
Also - it appears my cigar lighter isn't wired up and it appears it never was.... is this common?!

The cables to the rear lights etc. run through the passenger side sill then up over the wheel arch. Can't remember quite how I did it, but I did manage to pull a cable through when I moved the battery to the boot.
There are earth wires at each rear lamp cluster or if you need a "bigger" earth either a hole through boot somewhere and earth to chassis or run a cable back to engine bay.
There is a slit in the carpet just above the seat belt inertia reel, this gives access to rear end of sill. From there its pretty easy to "fish" a cable over the wheel arch into the boot. The trickiest bit is getting from front of sill into the area behind glove box (where the fuse box and ecu are), from there there is a large grommet with loads of wires going through to engine bay.

Think I used the lid from a length of mini trunking to fish through, it's flexible but rigid, good luck

If you leave food in the boot it will attract mice which will then eat you cables.

Thanks Phillpot, I'll take a look tomorrow night, weather permitting. I've already had the glove box out when I installed the amp (Alpine KTP445 fits really snugly in there) so will have a better look tomorrow. For info I'm mounting a couple of 6x9s either side of the sub and then components in the doors to replace to coaxials. I've removed the ashtrays and making up a couple of steel plates to mount the tweeters there instead. Think it's going to sounds pretty good when done! (not as good as the engine though of course!!)
