Early 911's - which one to buy / own ?

Having reluctantly sold my LHD 3.2 Carrera a while ago I am looking to replace it with something different but this time it needs to be RHD. I don't want a 2.7 or an SC, so I'm thinking 2.2 or 2.4, maybe a 3.0 Carrera. Any advice on the practicalities / pitfalls of owning one of these examples (obviously I'm aware of the rust issues for pre '76 cars) ??

Oh my gawd - if you're used to a 3.2 I wouldn't go back to anything older. The 3.2s were leagues ahead of the others you mention. Only earlier ones I'd go for are the cossetted examples Autofarm sell to collectors, but these are nearly always 964 prices!

You should be able to get a RHD 3.2 for 10k these days. If you can't, I'd get a RHD BMW325/328 for 7k.
