Hi. I was wondering whether the UK has any arrive and drive series like the skip barber series in the US?

I don't think I will have time to tow a car trailer around the UK, but would love the chance to do some racing.

All advice appreciated.

Formula Palmer Audi is the most prominent. I think its around £40K pa though. There are always drives available in the classified section of autosport so its worth having a look there. dependant upon the series you want to enter, there will almost certainly be a team willing to take your cash in exchange for the hard graft!!

There are teams such as Kevin Mills Racing who run a lot of cars in FF1600 regional championships and there are obviously going to be more that run in the National Championships.

best bet would be to wander round paddocks at race meetings and look for the larger awnings with a couple e of cars underneath, regardless whether they are different colours they are likely to be arrive and drive cars.

Am fairly sure that the Palmer Audi series is £50k plus the vat - although you do get to race at places such as Monza etc.
FF1600 or F Zetec go from about £700 per race plus entry fees, insurance etc - Kevin Mills runs sucessfully in Castle Combe challenge (google for websites) and Barry Pomfret runs some decent F Zetec's in F4/Mono etc.
If you want something quicker then it really is a question of how much money you can afford (or in motorsport terms, how much you can get hold of..) You can rent an ARP F3 car (Reon) current F3, F Renault, old F1 car - you name it, its out there.
If you post what you are looking for and how much you can afford it would make helping a little easier.
Have fun

I race occasionally in Mono and F4 and as far as I know costs of renting a slicks and wings single seater go from about £700 ish plus entry fees, insurance etc up to maybe £1750 ish for renting a potential race winning car from Comtec.

There is also the silverstone race school and their series, although im not sure if you have to have done the 5 day race intensive course first. ( a good bet anyway if you've not yet got yer licence)
