....as some of you are aware, my son Sam has Cystic Fibrosis which damaged his lungs at an early age and he was subsequently listed for a lung transplant when he was 8 years old, when his life expectancy was only 2 years. Well he is now 13 and while the last five years have been really hard on him, against all the odds and through sheer mental strength & his zest for life, he made it to receive the call from Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children that we have been all waiting for. We have just spent the last five weeks up there, where the care was absolutely top class. We are now out of hospital and while there are some issues still to manage he is recovering amazingly, in fantasic shape and already getting after it!

I have had a lot of support and help over the years from local South Coast Pistonheader's so I thank you all and look forward to catching up!

Thats great news biggrin

My 6 year old daughter has done a sponsored 5k walk for GOSH around Battersea Park in the last few weeks and she did it in just under an hour, which with both her parents in tow is pretty good going smile

Another member who's family have benefited from GOSH.

Glad your son is responding well to treatment.
