And cry a bit... there's something so depressingly british-government about the inability to do a bleeding cycle lane properly. Even more depressing than the pothole 'repairs' some councils love carrying out. Why can't we have councils that spend a bit more to do a proper job, that'll be useful and last? Grrr.

I know exactly where you are coming from.

I was cycling between Abington and Douglas in South Scotland using the cycle path a few weeks ago and came across 2 horse boxes parked in the cycle lane. One drove down it and blocked it and the other parked across it. The 2 chaps were chatting and when I challenged them I was met with a rather "I dont care" attitude.

Wasnt best please TBH. Even went to the extent of calling then thieving gypsy...... before powering the best I could uphill away from them. In hindsight the last part wasnt the best idea I've had, but I was pretty hacked off by them.

How would they like it if a load of us bikers decided to block off their farm road or fields.
