I'm doing Coast 2 coast this weekend, cuurently sat in Whitehaven in the lake district, it's really hilly around here...

All my training's taken place in and around flat Cambridgeshire.

No target time. It's a group ride for the altzihmers society so I'll just go with the pace of the pack and look after my legs the best I can through the next 2 days, then hopefully have enough left for some faster riding on Sunday.

I did it two weeks ago! The lakes were quite hard, we did have 2 foot deep floods though! Day 2 was quite hilly too but I enjoyed that, breezed up Hartside...start necking some Soreen after Penrith. Day 3 is simple, after Crawley side

First day done, good news I'm far from the slowest here.

Workington to Kendal

Stats from Endomondo:
54 miles
4 hrs 01 min
13.4 mph average
3533 ft climbed.
Max speed 43.75 mph

And what a fantastic day!

I'm using my Merida ride lite 94 road bike. Few guys here on hard tails won't recommend it for a road route myself.

Not sure we're in the 'official' coast 2 coast route. We've gone Workington, Keswick, Ambleside, Windermere, Kendal.

A591 through and passed Windermere was a tough climb.

The coast does come inland a lot near Kendal mind you. Make sure you turn East in the morning. I would say head into the sun but...

Well I've been told Whitby is on the east coast. Watching the weather right now I'm wondering if we'll come across an in land sea first.

Great riding in the dales to day. 54 miles covered and 3343 ft climbed. I'm loving this.
