3200gt Warranty Costs
Discussion
On the cusp of buying a 1999 circa 2000mls 3200gt privately but with a transferrable warrantry and enquired at marenello's cost of renewing the warranty. Was quoted an unbelievable £3200. Tried several other dealers and trident direct with same answer
Has anybody got an similair experiences or ways to get a more realistic price.
It has put me off buying the car, as I would be nervous runnning a 3200 without a warranty

Yep
I really liked the idea of a 3200gt and thought I'd found a great car.But the security of a warranty was a must for me to enjoy the car
Previously, I had an Alpina B10 which had a superb BMW warranty covered the lot..
The warranty was circa £500 per annum. As I had a lot of probs with the BMW. new rear diff, radiator, AC compressor the list was endless. The warranty was worth it's weight in gold,. I now would not buy a performance car without one
Additionally, the 3200gt would be my day to day car
I enjoyed reading your threads on buying a 3200gt Are you stil going to buy one?
I had a drive of an XKR and somewhat surprisingly was very impressed with the drive. The XJR is same money, same performance smaller rear seats and warranty £1200 per annum though IMO not quite the same exclusive image

Hmmmm , I've been out in the Tuscan today and had a cracking day with it - that is except from meeting a Scamera Van on the motorway whilst I was merrily bowling along. Consequently, I'm falling in love with it again and its running absolutely superbly following its last service. I therefore feel no rush to change to a Maser, but its still an idea that I will keep under review as I learn more about them.
The 4200s will probably start to come down in price before long with the arrival of new revisions, and I guess the whole Maserati price thing will start to settle down as the marque is gaining (deservedly) greater popularity and recognition. However, I don't relish lining the pockets of dealers, their workshops or warranty companies with my cash. I guess I will keep on looking and learning and get to that point when I stick with what I have, or go for it.
