Mate of mine's looking at one of these.
He's got his 3K mile Z4 on a pitch at the moment and when his 3 year contract purchase on his 320Ci runs out in September I think he's taking the plunge. He says he's pondered over the seats(?), long and hard and whether he could get comfy in them. He loves the way it drives though.
I think they're a fantastic looking machine. Bit overpriced at 60K but there are some veritable bargains to be had now. I'm looking forward to him taking me out in it.

Stealers selling approved cars @ 45k now and 'new' for just over. Heard they've still got a few to sell.
There are 31 cars left in the country... and Ireland...
So 31 cars and 180 or so dealers... New cars are £60k ish and dealers have registered a few and have them up at £53k... By no means £45k.
£45k will get you a year (ish) old one

Have to agree, I don't think my Mate would hang about if he could get a new one for 45K. The cars he's looking at are around £45-47K with 3-5K miles on them on 53 plates. I think it's carbon black he's after.

I am thinking of selling mine, any ideas what price I should be holding out for scoobyzoom? (nov03 4k miles), bearing in mind the epic depreciation already suffered at the hands of BMW's mismarketing (not that i'm bitter )
depends what spec you had.
£44995 - £45995 for a "proper" spec car in a private sale.
Had a shot in the CSL last weekend and it's totally brill. (Thanks Giles).
The soundtrack is pure touring car and the SMG works fantastically too. Seats are sooo supportive too.
This car had the cup tyres and also had bucketloads of grip too. Would take a while to understand how far the car could be pushed.
As I said, this was was approved used. Haggling is apparently worth the effort, the owner is near London and the car was purchase from Rydale Newport, so shopping around works.
Just wish I had the cash and a bigger garage.

I upgraded my M3 to a CSL in July and I have no regrets, its utterly brilliant.
I did however get a very good deal on it!!
Feel for the guys who lost out due to the crap BMW marketing!! i.e The CSL was never worth 60k+ as BMW led everyone to believe.
I was suckered! I waited a year for it and was under the impression that the production of 500 cars was over-subscribed 3 fold. I was 'privileged' to able to buy one. I paid full money and had to buy a second set of road wheels as the cups were going to be so radical. What a load of tosh. Thanks BMW...
Love the car though. Now with KW suspension, supersprint exhaust and AP stoppers. Track weapon par-excellence.
I know someone who paid £48k for a new pre-reg fully specced car last month. Deals are out there to be done.
Just to let you know, I test drove a CSL a few months ago and found the seat adjustment fine. I'm only 5ft 6", I'd suggest popping into a dealer and trying it.
I'm very interested in where people are seeing these cars for sub £40k, i've seen the one on the BMW website but it has the M3 wheels, I definitely want the CSL wheels. Haven't decided wether to go for a standard M3 fully loaded or the CSL as it going to have to be an everyday car. Any info would be appreciated.

CSL wheels are £1200 from the dealer so if you find a good deal on a car without them that could be still a good deal.
Not all CSl's came with both sets - early buyers were usually charged for the second set & some declined.
I use the CSL as an everyday car (except in heavy rain as I use Michelin Cups), I came from a fully loaded M3 and miss nothing - the CSL is so addictive you don't need any toys except the sport button
