SLK 320 really is a fast car !!!

I've now had my 2003 SLK 320 for about 6 weeks, and while I have never really lusted for a Mercedes and bought it almost by default, I must say I am really impressed. I've driven many V8s over the years , but even big Fords with 351 cubic inch engines cannot come close to this car for acceleration.Where it is most noticeable is when overtaking...hell it's as if the car is on steroids, and the the later models of course have even more grunt.It really is a fabulous car, and I'm starting to understand why people hold Mercedes in such high esteem. it was very expensive but I guess you get what you pay for. I'm certainly converted to Mercedes.

Right guys.....fast really is relative. This is about the quickest car I have driven, but compared to many sports cars it would be out and out sluggish. Still it will do me, I can lose my license in this easily enough thank you.

It is a good solid engine and gearbox. Also used in the Crossfire to good effect.

I had a 230 Kompressor when they first came out and that was very quick and made me feel like a million dollars. The 32 AMG is a rocket ship and over quick for most UK roads the NA V6 is a nice middle ground with plenty of clout but not to mad.

Loved it in my crossfire years ago! However I wouldn't call them fast at all. On par with most hot hatches.
