That was taken @ f/2.8.

I can't see anything on the sensor. That's the annoying thing.

Kinda has to be something on the sensor then?

What camera is it? Guess you've tried any sensor filter 'cleaning commands'...

It's on my old 450D. Yeah I've tried the automatic sensor clean, but no luck.
I was just giving it a once over and checking it out as it's now up for sale, but I can't sell it like this. Have you ever had a sensor cleaned? Any idea how much it is?

Used to be able to walk into Fixation and they'd do it for about £40-45.... IIRC

I don't follow how it looks the same at f/2.8 and f/22 - doesn't strike me as dust-like....

If it was sensor muck it would have disappeared by f2.8

A rocket blower would be my first suggestion, all around the sensor and the lens rear element.

I took a picture of the sensor and it doesn't look like there's anything on it apart from a little dust.

Blimey that isn't bad. My sensor is dreadful where I change lenses a lot when I'm out and about.
