Has anbody else noticed that the (rather cool IMO) manga style BBC World Cup coverage promo has missile type-things shooting up into the sky, set to the Led Zep track "Kashmir"? Spooky...

Yep - think it's the version off the Godzilla soundtrack. For those that hanker after it, there's either the original on Physical Graffiti, or a live version on Page and Plant's No Quarter album

Great track.

Saw Page & Plant at Wembley Arena a couple of years back. Every time they tried to play stuff off their new album - polite applause. Every time they played a Zeppelin number (including Kashmir) the crowd went f**king bonkers. Great gig, even if they are geting on a bit.

Plant did a Web interview with questions from the public last Wednesday on the Guardian's site. I believe it's still up there.

Hmm, apart from the fact that the version they use for wank-ball promo is the uuggh-yeerr, uh-hu crap (sorry rap) version that Puffy Pussy (or whatever that novelty cretin's name is).

But yes Kashmir, top tune. Usually keep a copy of Remasters in the car..

JPJ's definitely persona non grata. He's far too posh for those other two, and other than an appearance on one of page's cack solo albums i don't think either have picked up the phone to him for years.
Anyway, i bet he's too proud and has too much taste to want to go ruining a fine memory of a great band in an all too obvious bid for further millions.

A fine song indeed....

Jimmy Page was interviewed as part of a Jeff Buckley documentary on BBC4 last week. Top man and looking very dapper considering how worn out Robert Plants looking these days.

I have a six CD changer and if you take the two Remasters sets together it comes to... six CDs

Now and again I load the lot up and have a Zeppelin week. You can find a tune for every mood, wonderful stuff.

Any more of you PH types at Knebworth in '79 ?

The saints and greavsy rock legends album is actually quite good for classic rock anthems. "you ain't seen nothing yet". Yes Led Zep fan.

I saw Robert Plant at Glastonbury about 10 yeras ago and he was excellent then. Would have loved to have seen Led Zep live. The video - the song remains the same is good, but ohh to be there!

We are not worthy....

A friend at school had tickets for Knebworth, his mum would not let him go, we were only about 11 at the time. "Don't worry you can go and see them next time they play' she said...

Stupid, stupid woman.

I had a tape of a really early Zep gig (1969) utterly amazing, JP is awesome.

Annoyingly enough in the VH1 top 100 men of Rock he came 68th (I think) Plant came 60th and guess who won....Robbie Williams PAH.

I'm off to buy the somg remains the same on DVD to make my self feel better.

You lucky, lucky...

Was offered a ticket. Like some of you others my Mum wouldn't let me go. That's not really very rock'n'roll is it

I saw then end of that show and yes it was pathetic. Do you know where Freddy Mercury came? I suspect he was well down the list 'cos thes people have such short memories.

AFAICS, every pop poll lists performers who have been popular in the last five years at the top.

I wonder why. Not.

They should poll us fogies more often...
