Any hints on what the giveaway is for being a Ford van?
Wheels mainly, plus the centre caps and the rear-hinged doors. Model Y/Ford 8 vans often had the spare wheel bolted to the door, I've seen them on both sides. Model Ys only ever had spoked wheels, never the pressed wheels of later models.RJ
[Added: I've photos of similar on here: http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/fordmodely.htm]

I've never seen another van with the spare wheel on the side, which was done at the factory.Mind you, the wheels were usually pressed - steel, not wires.
Nope, all Model Ys came from the factory with wire wheels. You're thinking of the later Fordson / Thames (103E style) models.
