Big thumbs up to Chris Weaver from Exel Wheels for sorting out the exploded tyre on my 993.

First class service at a great price and highly recommended.

Company slogan is - GOING THE EXTRA MILE FOR YOU.

And he means it.

Collected the wheels, removed the old tyres, cleaned the wheels inside andout, fitted new tyres and returned to my house to refit to the car.

All for less money than the local tyre firm quoted if I'd taken the car into them. And they definitely wouldn't have cleaned the wheels.

He's certainly very good. What tyres did you have and what was the cost?

(and is that really your number plate?)

Plus one, top work, top bloke, did a fantastic job swapping my wheels to a set of GT3 split rims.

Massive blowout on one rear Conti on a 17" rim.

Decided to replace both rear tyres, again with Conti's.

Price was £350 all in, with the wheels cleaned and the home visits etc.

A993LAD was on my previous 993 coupe. Left it on when I sold that cxar but noticed the buyer sold it on quite soon afterwards.

It's still on a 993 I think and the current plate owner contacted me earlier this year after seeing my username to offer it back to me.

+1 for Excel
Chris refurbed my split rim 993 targa wheels August last year, due to an process problem the paint started to flake off, I was heartbroken (well ish)...Chris was true to his word, came out without any grumbles, re-refurbed the wheels, back on the car...perfect. Can't say enouh for his service, his work ethic, his prices or his general 'nice guyness'.

If you need wheels refurbed or new tyres you will not find bettergt

Tyres will be supplied by Chris when the current P Zeros are no more...

Actually I was exagerating.

Picked up a big nail in the middle of the tread and I'm guessing the tyre slowly deflated. However the wife kept driving (at some speed I think) on the flat tyre until both sidewalls were completely destroyed.

Women drivers, eh?

Still, it is her car!
