For anyone interested in a 997.2 GT3
Discussion
I’ve part-ex’d my old 997.2 GT3 against a new car (SLS AMG) and it has been sold to OPC Nottingham I believe.
I’m not sure if it has made on to their stock list yet, but it doesn’t appear to be in the PH classifieds.
Just a heads up to anyone who might want an epic car that has been lovingly cared for with very low mileage – I have no financial interest in the car – I’ve had my money out of it . But it is great car for anyone who might be looking to buy in the near future. I did my due diligence prior to purchase from OPC Tonbridge in October last year and there were (and still are) no recorded rev range instances 1 through to 6. It has had a pampered ownership in my care; it didn’t ever see salt on the roads (it was laid-up all winter) or indeed too much rain!
The car is: 2010, Guards Red, with folding bucket seats and PCM3 etc. Mileage of approximately 2,700 when sold.
I would rather it went to an ‘enthusiast’ who frequents this forum as opposed to someone who might not realise what they have…

Would be nice to read about GT3's without someone ONCE referring to "Rev Issues" 1-6 or whatever blah blah blah!
For goodness sakes - the cars have rev limiters and are built to be driven "a certain way" the sooner all of our cars have become a "Certain age" the better then we can ALL rest easy in the knowledge that the number of "UNDER" revved cars is smaller than the ones that have been "OVER" revved!!
I'm sure the OPC/Dealers are as much to blame for this just to kick you in the balls come trade time and squeeze your balls come purchase time!

well it's not really blah blah blah when you are stuck with a car no trader will take off you.So over revs is now the key question for any buyer and trader now.
only people to take it from you would be non Porsche dealers in a part ex

shame you did not put it up for sale 1st, now it's 10k more expensive.
To be honest I got what I wanted for it (as part of the package of the new car purchase). Plus, I thought the new owner might appreciate the piece of mind that comes with a refreshed 2 year Porsche Warranty – I certainly did.Re the rev range – the cars have limiters that stop over rev on the way up the ‘box, but not on the way down. A missed change from 6th to 3rd when you're pushing on and you’re in trouble.

well I just don't see the point in the post, unless he is going to tell every one what he got trade for it.
The 'point' was to alert those on the forum who might want a well cared for car, that has no known issues, that it will be offered for sale, so that a fellow Porsche ‘enthusiast’ might benefit.I wish I hadn’t bothered…

Don't be, in fact this is exactly what I would come to hope for in community like ours - I applaud you.I wish I hadn’t bothered…

I fully understood the reason for the post and it's simply a shame not to see more like minded ppl doing the same. I am tearing myself on whether to pick up a GT3 and from what you described, yours is right up my alley. Trouble is, I'm central London....

Do it. I'm in Central London and I use a secure car storage facility versus leaving it on the street if security/welfare is your concern. DM me if you'd like details. It would be good to know what the trade paid for the car, I can't think of any reason to keep this secret.
Mutual respect maybe, no reason for the OP to confirm his financial arrangement tbh; but nice to hear of a car held in high regard to the point where he's sold it and still wishes to ensure it goes to a good home. For someone in the position of buying one of these, to hear from a previous owner saying it is the best part of perfect is no doubt music to their ears.Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
