But a load of car now when you think what they cost new.
Bag yourself a low mileage one and you got slow downside

Great car and so much more than a 993 C4S for which i have owned in the past.
I actually think the 996 C4S is one of the best looking and best sound with PSE 911's ever made.

Just remember that a service with, let's say a new clutch and a couple of tyres, will cost 30% of the value of the car, so, it aint cheap motoring as the OP suggests.

Clutch, tyres and an annual service is surely no more than £2500 at a specialist ???

Cracking long term buy? It is possible that the passage of time will kinder to the 996, but I doubt it.

Its a lot of motor for the money, but it is actually the slowest Carrera.

Fat, heavy & ugly.

It's three word Wednesday's after all!

The most overpriced of all 996's I reckon, if these are a bargain what does that make a turbo?!

I prefer a nice, clean, simple, lighter and purer c2 if i am honest, I wouldnt have said that a couple of years ago, but guess my tastes have matured a little, and for me, a 911 have to be rear wheel drive.

Only time will tell but maybe in 10-15 years time when everyone's daily is a near silent auto with zero emissions and 500 bhp there will be a strong market for a 25 year old manual 911 with a fat arse swoopy big shoulders and a shouty exhaust for the weekend connoiseur??

There most defintely will be a market for that! But will it be the 996 they want? Thats the question.

Here we go again the beards get all paranoid.
No seriously the C4S in 996 form not 993 is an outstanding car, EVO thought so and it does everything very well and i don't see 0.60 in just over 5s and 177 tops as slow, especially when a friend of mine was struggling in a 993 C4S to keep up with Audi S3.

I own a 993 and a 996 in turbo form and i can assure you forget bloody values if you are talking smiles per pound and out and out pace and handling the 6 is so much better.

So let me think a nice 996 C4S early to mid 20's or a 993 C4S late 20's to mid 30's, gotta be the 6.
