Mrs' Boxster and Mclaren mp4-12c drive this morning
Discussion
Friend text over weekend and said he hadn't taken his car out for a while so we decided to go for an early morning blat.
Luckily (despite him having had it about 4 months so far) he has only done 600 miles in it so far and therefore he was still not allowed to give it absolutely full beans.
Ours has a 1000 miles on it now which means we can open it up a bit more.
Good fun but roads still quite busy despite us leaving at 6.45
First time he has seen the Boxster and it is the first time he hasn't slagged off one of my cars !
He was actually very impressed and said even he would own one!
Couple of poor pics from the iphone

Both look rather grey. Not my favourite colour for any sports car but admittedly popular amongst Porsche owners so I might be missing something. But I can't for the life of me see the point of getting a £200k supercar and then bottling out of a bit of colour.

It looks unfiinished to me. Like its still waiting to have a proper coat of paint back at the factory. The black wheels augment the dull factor even more ! Mind you, the flat light, dead tones, almost colourless greeney in the picture doesnt help much either.Edited by BnB on Sunday 17th June 17:23

He wanted a subtle colour given the bright coloured supercars he has had up until now (reds/oranges/greens)Edited by BnB on Sunday 17th June 17:23

Ordering my Audi RS4 tomorrow (currently have a twin turbo diesel X5)
Also have a trick supercharged exige (in bright orange)
In same position as you, X5 4.0, looked at RS4 and looks as dull as dishwater and has had poor reviews. Had RS6 V0, same. Point and squirt ....boredom personified. Audi have lost their way wit the RS, the B7 A4 was superb....since then, lost it.Also have a trick supercharged exige (in bright orange)

Not sure the reviews so far have been bad as such but I guess I am not expecting it to be as good as a B7 but I am still looking forward to it, had my deposit down since June last year. 535dBoy said:

Run a Defender too as daily driver as find X5 'innit' boy stigma a liitle off putting. Not as bad as your 'property developer, private plate, RRS geezer', but close. It's just such a good motorway muncher, superb car. At the moment, nothing comes close for what it offers. Terrible PX offers means it's staying.Robbo66 said:

So what impression of yourself are you trying to give out with the Defender?Gassing Station | Porsche General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
