I've walked past this car many times over the last couple of years and wondered what what was under the cover. The high winds recently revealed what it is.

I don't know much about the older Porsches so appreciate any feedback.

Hmm.........i was stood quite close to it. It didn't look like a replica or kit.

And the area where it is located is really expensive..

I'm not saying it is a replica, but there have been some very expensive speedster type replicas made over the years. There's just something about that does seem to sit right, but I'm in no way claiming any expertise smile

It has been under cover for at least two years, and uncovered for two days.

The area is mostly rental with a high turnover of people. I get the feeling the owner is absent somewhere.

Fascinating to know the history, if it is in the same situation tomorrow i may make some enquiries. It looks like it could belong to one of four properties.

Given the value of a real one, I suspect in that case it's a replica...

The car will be absent if it is left uncovered any longer...can't see that being an original left outside somehow but could be wrong.

Have a quick look at the tax disc, which will confirm if original Porsche or not

PM me the reg and I'll get you the VIN and the DVLA make/model data and date of first UK registration (which in itself is inconclusive as could have been previously registered overseas).

Not recognised on MID or the DVLA site.

It's covered up again now so might never know.

If it's an original or not, and it's been sat sweating under that cover for 2 years doing nothing, then the owner doesn't deserve to own it. Those covers are a double edged sword, they trap moisture coming up from underneath the car. Long term they can irrevocably damage the paint too. The car would probably be better off without the cover.

Unsurprising it's not on the MID, and I'm guessing you just checked the DVLA road tax site, where you have to choose the vehicle make? If so, then from the resources I use I can get you more info on it if you send the reg over. smile
