That sounds really good. How do you know its a 2.7? Still waiting to get a drive in a 2.7 manual, dealer hopes to have one by end of June.

I'm guessing he was the one driving it!

Still can't wait to try one.

I didn't realise you made the film! Is it your car or a demo? I was told recently that no 2.7 models in the UK yet. Did that car have the standard exhaust? Can't wait to drive one...

Was lent it (with a lot of pleading) - However there are a number of 2.7's which are ariving at uk dealers over the next week or so - worth trying to ring around

- and yes the car had a standard exaust.

Autocar describes the sound as inimitable - and of half a dozen pistons trying to
jab each other in the eye - and i would say that that just about sums it up.

They also describe the manual box as magnificent - and i would agree with that too.

Its a very diferent car to the 3.4 PDK S - its lighter on its feet and in a way
more sporty - and has been engineered to be in a class of its own - not a second fiddle to the 3.4....

a good description can be found by Peter Barnwell as found by clicking on the link below

"Then we got into the base model 2.7 manual and funny enough, it was just as good, possibly better because you could link with the car and drive the wheels off it. All this to the accompaniment of that snarling, cackling, popping exhaust. With the roof down, it’s a raw, visceral experience you never want to end – well almost"

Hope the above helps

Are Porsche reverse engineering their range to make the lesser models the most attractive ownership propositions?

Thank you for the reply. I'll phone round and try and find one.

Changing my current 2007 2.7 Boxster was not in my long term plan, I've had the car three years and it has only done 20K miles, the spec is perfect for me and I planned to keep it for ever! After attending the Boxster launch I feel in love with the new car. I had a drive of the pdk S which was fantastic but too expensive for me. The 2.7 manual would be ideal and I only want a few options like full leather, sports seats, bose and rear park assist so cheap by Porsche standards!

Would make sence in respect of volume sales - have read that this is part of
the reason for the switch to electric steering..
