Selling the house imminently and need {possibly} a place to store our stuff till we get something sorted, can anyone recommend a decent place in S Cambs/Herts?

All I can suggest is not to! After my girlfriends experience of the horrific costs of a tiny little space I'd beg, borrow or steal somewhere else to store it rather than a self storage place!

Sorry I couldn't offer a more useful response!

Google cheap storage; Big Yellow are as expensive as they come and unless your sofa is particular it's overkill.

If you can stretch to Milton Keynes try Arrows Self Storage, good rates, nice group of people running it and the bonus fact your stuff will be stored in the old Arrows F1 Factory where many a mid grid car was created. Some still reside in the foyer as Jackie Oliver is part owner.

If it's long term, don't bother. Sell or give your stuff away, and buy new when you have the new house. It'll probably work out cheaper!

All the stuff I had in storage doesn't exist anymore. It cost me a fortune to have my house crap age gently in a box in a warehouse.

When we were between houses a couple of years ago (also South Camb's), we used Safe Store over in Kempston. Nice and easy to get to as it's off the A421 bypass.

Nice clean storage to whatever size you need, there was also a deal on via Tesco vouchers which saved us a packet. Staff were very helpful to including getting the forklift out to help off-load and then reload a particularly heavy item.

ETA - just checked the Tesco angle and the offer is currently £10 vouchers = £30 Safe Store tokens (you must get these changed in advance!)

Have you got a Tesco clubcard?
They are generated from the points you earn. If you haven't, you might find some family or friends who have some you could buy off them. You would need them to change the vouchers over for you though.
