Hello,
Had some oil bought, i.e Free !
It was Comma motorsport 5W-50.
I know this is not perfectly the right oil spec for the car according to heath's bible.......but can anyone suggest why this oil would not be applicable for summer motoring only.
Car is 2.8, V6, 112K.....reasonably looked after - doesn't use oil - but does run hot !!
Look forward to hearing from any interested parties.
Cheers,
Chris

Most sensible people shy away from oil discussions, there are LOTS of opinions and lots of (seemingly) conflicting information depending on where you ask the question.
I'd be concerned about something that has such a wide temperature range, unless you're planning on going somewhere that's -35 anytime soon.
Arguably it won't do any harm and in colder weather it'll put less strain on the starting systems.
