Has anyone any genuine info on what discounts are possible for a new 991S?
I'm on the verge of buying and could do with some helpful knowledge as to whats achievable.

Virtually every dealer has a stock car, all pre-registered December 2011 on Porsche's instructions, all of which they are trying to get shot of. None of these are listed on the Porsche Approved website so you need to ring around. Expect about 10% off list. There was a pretty good car at Leeds OPC which was offered at 90, down from 99.

If you want to spec your own car find a dealer who hasn't sold any for a while. I reckon there are a few!! Stands to reason you're unlikely to get as good a deal as you can on a stock car that's eating up the dealership's cashflow. But discounts are there to be had. I just ordered a 991 and was pretty happy with the deal. And sorry I won't go into specifics on here.

I traded in my GTS so it's impossible to unravel how much of the price to change is discounted. It helps to play two or three dealers off against eachother. Where they start is a long way from where they'll end up as soon as one of them cracks... which they will if you're persistent. That's all I've got to say. Good luck

that being the case, they clearly had no customers, and had to fulfill order commitments to Porsche GB.

as you are the most likely buyer for this stock car, you should be able to push them very hard -- otherwise, they will have yet another 991 car in stock unsold.

If I were you I'd see what's available and then see how close to it you can get your local OPC to go. FWIW I would expect you to get a good chunk off an ex-demo, a deal on a pre-reg and a smidge off a built to order car.

I would be prepared to pay a slight premium to deal locally (regardless of who my OPC was) because when something goes wrong afterwards they will, sooner or later, usually try to look after a local customer. A local Porsche dealership for local people, as it were.

Though I would observe that I have seen few stock cars / demonstrators with an ideal spec. Sometimes they are too spec heavy to showcase options, other times they are too basic.

That's right, stock cars to much spec.5K off a car with 5Ks worth of extras you don't want is a waste of money.
