Cycle mechanic course

Has anyone gone on a course anywhere to improve their ability to fiddle with and maintain/mend their bike? There seems to be a lack of reliable bike shops around here and I think I'd rather learn how to do it myself.

I live in Devon, so if anyone has some info on good courses locally (or further afield if it's a good course) I'd be grateful for some info.

I can do a few basics well enough - I'm after learning how to service a bike and (eventually) think about building/rebuilding a few "favourites" I have lying around!!

Youtube has all the info you need tbh. Save the money and invest it the tools you'll need.

Keep an ear to the group for any local groups, shops, colleges offering evening/weekend classes. Although being honest, with a little patience, a decent book, some tools and the 'net, and you should be able to teach yourself most of what you need to know
