My garage is within 10m of the front door of my property and the neighbor's front door isn't much further. Both of our front doors are at the bottom of our common sloping driveway.

When I start the car from cold of a morning to reverse out, an invisible (with any luck wink), cloud of unburnt fuel and miscellaneous stupéfiants drifts downhill towards both front doors earning negative brownie points for the old girl unless it's a bit windy when it is more likely to disperse that bit quicker. Trouble is that I have to reverse back towards these doors before booting it a bit to exit the property, largely oblivious to the ill effects.

I understand that the cats need time to heat up before they work at their best but do you think it was it ever thus with this generation of M96 engine (2002, 2.7)? Perhaps certain people in the household are just more sensitive these days but it isn't ideal. Do the cats deteriorate over time and would new ones help? It passed it's emissions test not too long ago but that is of course a test from hot.

Try changing to a different fuel supplier or a low sulpher petrol

Hadn't considered that it could be down to the actual fuel being used (Libya's finest: Tamoil 98 RON) although it isn't eally an eggy/sulphur smell. I might try Shell V-Power for a bit and see if there is a difference...

Any other ideas??

I was thinking more along the lines of buying a 918 Spyder and using the all-electric mode to get out of the garage!
