Hit by a foreign driver

Well after a lovely long weekend, back to work today and end up getting knocked off on my way home. Foreign driver turned left across the cycle lane and I couldn't brake in time, hitting the rear driver (lhd) side panel. I'm a bit roughed up, elbow and neck are throbbing, gave my head a good old whack on the ground. I dread to think what could have happened if I wasn't wearing a helmet.

Anyway just wanted to vent as I fear my 8 month old Trek 1.5, my first road bike, is beyond repair. The front and rear wheels are slightly buckled, 105 pedal on the right is majorly scuffed, chain seems to be running 'wonky', and my handlebar and gear levers are badly buckled. Absolutely gutted would be an understatement.

Took the police over 50 minutes to arrive! Thankfully the driver stayed until the police came so I have all his details. I fear now that it will be many months before this is all sorted.
