I've bought 2 afternoon returns several times, the first starting in the UK - I never use the return part. I then use an address in France/NL, but ask to collect the second lot of PM trip tickets at Calais. Yet again I don't use the return part. BTW, I've used all sorts of car registrations, they don't seem to check your car. I've also used different credit/debit cards just in case too. Another option to get to Spain is to take the ferry to Santander - we're thinking of doing that this summer. The Eurorail thing is too expensive and the girlfriend is not so keen on driving the TVR. FYI I have recently booked a return trip for Le Mans, it was leaving early on a Thursday and coming back on a Monday. It was £185 return.
