Rockrider 8.1 Help please

Hi Guys,

after abit of advice, firstly i know next to nothing about bikes...

But looking to do abit of biking for abit of enjoyment and trying to shed a few pounds and just been offered a bike through work on the bike scheme thing, i set myself a budget of around £500 and started to do abit of reading theres a few bikes i like the look of ( pointless me looking at spec )

Eventually i thought the rockrider 8.1 sempt like a good safe bet really my price, good spec ( so im reading ) and decent reviews, just thought id ask before going shopping is there anything else i should consider or any reasons not to go for this one??

If it is that spec, then don't hang about. I paid £650 for a similar spec five years ago (that's before prices went mad), so that's phenomenal VFM!

after hours of messing about on them, decided to go for the 2012 Cube Aim, i know the rockrider is the better spec but it just didn't feel as nice for me or look as good.

Just bought the 8.1 myself. Really nice bike and great value for the kit you get. I doubt you'll get similar value from a big brand unless it's at the end season.
