I have a load of brake discs, calipers, wheels etc lying around. Is there anywhere I can take them and Exchange for cash.

What's the value per kg of scrap metal?

Panda Rosa metals seem to be giving the best deal on mixed steels just now. There are industry rates but if you take the things along they will just make you an offer.

Quick google suggests just 20p a kg, not really worth the hassle and fuel costs smile

Throw it into the back of a dodgy looking pick up and head for the scrapper, not forgetting to lift every gate, manhole cover, gutter, electrical cable, road sign, broken down vehicle and skylight you observe on route. Just "tidying up the countryside" seems an appropriate excuse. You will be amazed how quickly it adds up.

Pandarosa at causeway end? I just took in six old corroded, buckled alloy wheels I had lying around and got eighty quid. It was £1/kg for alloys if it makes any difference? They even took the tyres off for me.

Thanks for the info.
I've got some old alloys in the shed, one of which is cracked. They've got decent tyres on though so that's good info that they will remove the tyres.
Unless they just cut them off, of course!?!

Afraid so - they crunched up the wheel with a hydraulic press and then picked the torn in half tyre out of the debris. Pretty impressive to watch but you'll struggle to get a seal on that tyre again wink
