Austin A30/A35 Owners Club Jubilee National Rally - my pics
Discussion
Hi there.
Was supposed to be going to Silverstone for the Blancpain Endurance Series, but the crap weather forecast meant I bottled it.
Instead decided to head over to the Austin A30/A35 Owners Club Jubilee National Rally. I have been meaning to go to the clubs national rally for a few years now, but its usually held in places like Devon or Dundee. This years event was at Lichfield Rugby Club which is about 30 mins from my house.
The weather was pants, which did affect the turnout somewhat, but being as my first car when I was 17 was an A35 I had the time of my life.
Heres some pics of the superb little cars: -

Straight from Wallace and Gromit 'Curse of the Were-Rabbit'

Pick Ups are my all time favourite, think they only made around 475 and there were 7 on show today.

This one looked standard but was running a 1300cc Morris Ital engine and Toyota gearbox, brakes etc

This one was quite well presented with a good paint job, and custom interior/dashboard

Apparently this is a Suzuki SJ413 underneath

A stunning race car, running a 1.7L Ford Engine.

Hope you like the pics, rest of them are here: -

Great to see, it is over 20 years since I went to an A30/A35 Owners Club National Rally. I went to the one in Lincoln where there was an aerial photo taken of cars organised into the shape of the flying A - my car was part of it. Great fun to drive, power oversteer with a 28hp engine!
