Hi all, anybody got any recomendations for a Volvo specialist in the Birmingham area. Thanks in advance.
Not necessarily right in B'ham but Tim Williams has a lot of specialist expertise with Volvo cars and he's not too far away from B'ham - you can contact him via the T5D5 forum (www.t5d5.org) and also see examples of his work and also read customer feedback. More importantly, T5D5 also has feedback on which Volvo 'specialists' you shouldn't touch with a barge pole in B'ham, and there's at least a couple to steer well clear of!Edited by T4RRR on Saturday 23 June 17:15
Hi, I can definitely recommend Pye Volvo. I started using them a couple of years ago on the recommendation of a colleague and they've serviced my V70 since then as well as doing a couple of other one-off jobs. They don't have the usual main dealer facilities such as nice reception areas & free coffee (!) but I've found them to be reliable, honest & straightforward to deal with and of course you won't be paying main dealer prices either!

Thanks for your opinion, I drove past them Saturday afternoon but they were closed. I'll call them tomorrow regarding a few issues and get it booked in. Like yourself I don't really want to help pay for a posh showroom when all I want is it looked after.
Please do let us know how you get on with them.Whilst I know that quite a few dealers have had a reputation for ripping people off, I would also recommend having a word with Simon Chiu, Service Manager at MRG Volvo in Chippenham (01249 443300) about any issues you may have with your cars. They are absolutely on top of their game and are very reasonable cost-wise, so much so that some I know drive 200miles each way to have their car serviced, and still save money at the end of the day.

My Dads car does 500 miles each way to get a top job from them. OP, you'd be silly not to consider MRG Whilst I know that quite a few dealers have had a reputation for ripping people off, I would also recommend having a word with Simon Chiu, Service Manager at MRG Volvo in Chippenham (01249 443300) about any issues you may have with your cars. Car booked in at MRG in Chippeham at the end of the month to sort leaky doors and a service, maybe a cambelt while i,m there too. They,ve said they may need the car for a few days for the leak as they can,t be sure what the problem is and what parts may be needed (door seals?)
A loan car was offered but at the mileage rate they were looking at plus the fuel I'll get the train as I live near Birmingham. I'll repost after they (hopefully) sort it with costs etc when I get it back. thanks again for the recomendations guys.

Will be doing the same, open return to Birmingham by rail, less than £50 and takes about 2hrs Changing twice. Famous national coach company costs a bit more and takes betweeen 4 and six hours
Do you think I have to pedal the thing? Six hours on a coach? Unless it goes via Lands End...
