997.2 Wet carpet under rear seat leather

Dear All

just been cleaning my 997.2 Targa. I pulled the rear seat leather cushion out to get dust from around it. I found that the carpet below the rear seat cushion is soaking wet!!

Anyone else had this before?

Sounds like your rear roof drain is blocked....

Pull the carpet trim off from under the lid catch and look in the corners of the roof; there is a drain hose in either corner. Pull the hose off and push a pipe cleaner up into the drain - they fill with dirt and once blocked allow water to flow out of the roof mech into the rear.

You need to take the carpets out and get them dry - the leak is a fair way from where you've seen it and there are a few ecu's and relays that may be affected by the water.......

Having had a look online at some Targa roof diagrams I had a closer look at my car and found that the rubber drainage pipe (passenger side) in the roof mechanism is severed! After todays rain the interior is soaked again.

PLEASE STOP RAINING! I need to take it to an OPC as soon as possible...
