"Different" restaurants in reading?

Anyone know of any truly interesting restuarants in the Newbury/Reading area?

A proper smoke house would be great, or a really good sushi place, or anything like that really

I looked for sushi for ages but came up blank I'm afraid. There is a great restaurant in Bedwyn, little further out it worth it. The Plough it's called, very good fish.

Cant. tjink of a smokehouse. And the only sushi place, apart from yo sushi which is discounted as a generic mass market faux sushi bar, was sushi 151. But alas it is closed down.

However different I can advise on. Picassos in caversham. A family run non-chain tapas restraunt. And the lebonese place on caversham high. st is good too.

Big agreement on Picasso's. Also Mya Lacarte in Caversham is an excellent brasserie (awful name!)

How about Wellington Arms in Baughurst - you won't find better 'pub' food.
