Who's got the longest commute on here then?

Tried mine for the first time, near enough 40 miles dead on. The cyclists in London seem to be a completely different breed (of lunatic).

Chapeau. Mines 28.7km each way, although this year I've been alternating between that, and running 10km each way to work.

Is there a river en route? You do try a mini-triathlon......

8 miles each way if I take the direct route. 5 days a week more often than not.

Completely mad. Do you work 8 hours a day?

My 14 miles each was is getting towards the limit, but since the average speed in my car is 17.4mph I don't find it too bad.
It's the first time I've done it. Won't be doing it again soon. The killer was getting up at 4am, painful. Thankfully not going home tonight, only a 25 mile ride up to Essex to visit my parents for the weekend.

If you kept at it you'd probably shave massive amounts of time off it though.

28 miles each way for me through twisty country lanes, finally cracked the 20mph average last week biggrin

I'm up at 0500 for that and showered and in the office for 0745, generally leave at 1800 so it can make for a long day, worth it tho for the training mileage.

Usually take a long route to work and it can be up to 30 miles so this means up at just before 6am and out the house very soon after 6am after a quick cold breakfast ride to work via a choice of routes flat, hilly or super hilly and then showered and a drink at my desk just as everyone else is rolling in at around 8:15 for a 8:30 start the ride home is usually 15 miles and a straight home flat ride just in time for tea. this is 4 time a week as one day is in the car share [my turn to drive this maintains my place for the 2 weeks in the winter that I wimp out]

Probably true, but I value my sleep smile

Journey back up to my parents, much more manageable distance, aside from East London being an absolute sthole to ride through. Feared for my life for at least 40 minutes.

Snap.

I can get up at ~5:45 for a 06:00 depart to get in before 8, so slightly more sleep.

Wow!! Mines only 13 miles each way which is quite enjoyable..
Thinking of adding an extra loop in on the way home now to get some more miles in the legs before I go the the Alps in July!

mines 13.5 miles each way and i sometimes go home via Poole Quay and along the seafront to Bournemouth which bumps it up to over 20 miles
I too like to be in early at 7:00 and then off at 3:00 to miss the traffic - which is all relative down here in Dorset compared to you city types smile

21km in, 20km home: I go a slightly longer route in the morning to avoid a sharp hill in the first half mile that comes before my legs wake up.

4.5 miles to work (direct) and 12 miles home (indirect), could do a 30 mile route home too (very indirect).

Well, any of us could do a 200-mile route home, but I suspect it may make one late for dinner. wink
