Got tickets for Gary Numan on Friday night!

Saw him a few years ago after Jagged but I vowed to make a second trip back after I was denied my gig tshirt.

Didn't realise I'd bought tickets from a tout website, and after being told the tickets would come in the post I called up and found out that I'd have to meet someone at the venue. We found a crowd outside also waiting for whatever his name was, nowhere to be seen. Finally managed to get through to him on the phone, and when he heard the rest of the group hung up.

Spent my remaining cash on another ticket

But now, tickets already in hand from a reputable website and can't wait.

That makes me feel really old, it was 33 years ago (more or less to the week) that I bought 'Are Friends Electric?" on picture disc. On a family holiday over the Whitsun holiday.

I think this is more of a best-of tour this time around but he seems to be in London almost every year

Loved it! Even managed to convince the guys on the merch stand to give me the last skinny fit shirt pinned to the display board

I saw him years ago, driving a LHD 70s Corvette. I didn't know he was touring again, I assume he's crashed another plane and needs the money.

he's been touring quite successfully for a quite a while - his late 80s / early 90s period was awful but over the past few years his shows have got better and better and his newer material is really good (albeit that he doesn't sell units like he did in his heyday)

first gig I ever went to was seeing Numan was at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1980 - absolutely blew my mind

Was due to go on Friday but illness prevented...

I used to play in a Numan covers band for a few years. Not such a huge fan now as I was but had been looking forward to this one.

Pretty sure the Corvette was a pressy from his record company when he got to number 1 in 1979. He had the car for many years I understand. He also had a Ferrari 512BB...while living temporarily as a tax exile on the small island of Jersey in the early 80s for a short period, so knackered the clutch a lot, apparently!

That's so excellent

Wore my new favourite shirt out to a metal night on Sunday (seeing as the Damned has got lost somewhere in the wash), got a few compliments on it

Hope everyone else had as good a good b/h weekend as I did!
