I need advice; relocating, saving and work

Going to keep this short.
I'm going to sandhurst in september 2013, and my initial plan was to do a ski season in the meantime, only I'm finding it hard to get money towards that when I'm earning a pittance, in a job I don't enjoy much.
I've been offered a job in slough, it would involve me speaking german and working for LEGO. Brilliant.
Only I live in leicester.
So I ask you gents, would you consider, at the age of 19, 18,000 pounds, plus a couple of bennefits such as a free gym and the such, to be worth moving to slough? I'm not just thinking of the money, I'm thinking of the job itself. I'm billingual, and I think this could be a foot in the door to various job opportunities in the future, especially if I can't hack sandhurst and need a back up plan, and would probably see me well at university if I decide to go.
I ask this question on here, because pistonheads seems to attract reasonably clever people with a bit of life experience under their belt.

Been there myself and it's much easier to do this now than at 29. This is the time to take risks, if you're going to take them.
On £18,000 your take home will be around £1200. You'll be able to rent a studio or one bed flat within walking distance for around £500 per month. A room in a house share would be even cheaper.
You're not going to be living the kind of lifestyle that you'd manage living with mum and dad, but look on it as an exciting challenge and it'd be fine.

In the current environment any decent company work experience will stand you in good stead. That's the sensible bit.
More fun bit - take that or another job that allows you to save; save, go on ski season - be as debauched and have as much fun as you can take.
Go to Sandhurst, stick at it, enjoy army life, have adventures - keep going until you get old and decrepit, then look back (not before) and say "hell, yes"

Some may see that as defeatist, particularly your Sandhurst Platoon Colour Sergeant! Whilst Sandhurst is physical, it's also about a frame of mind; they will sniff out any doubt or weakness. So, why not stay in Leicester and join your local TA unit, which not only pays, but will give you additional experiences in order to improve your chances at Sandhurst and you may even be able to ski with them for free too! That came out a bit wrong. I just need a back up plan, and im going to take everything into consideration. Furthermore, its a short service commision ive been offered, so long term job plans are helpful. I joined the TA two weeks ago actually. I dont doubt my ability to get through sandhurst, if thats what you mean, I think its important to have a plan b, incase things go fits up. (my friend broke both his legs in an accident shortly before he was due to join the regs, had to find something to do for two years until he actually started.
I have a work visa application for canada, so I would think more seriously about the ski season once that is confirmed.
Get away from home, and start being independent.
Work abroad whilst you can, I did, and loved it. (I kinda wish I'd been able to do a ski season though.)
It's probably not too late to get away for the summer season too. Get in touch with all the travel companies and see if they've been let down by any staff. I did a summer with Euro-camp, which whilst wasn't glamourous, meant I got to save more than I would have done if I had been in the UK.
American Summer camps don't pay well, but you only need money to buy an ice cream or two on your day off, so you can save well there too if you need to. (Might be a bit late for that now though.)

It's probably worth pointing out that the jobs they're offering are fixed term contracts till January 2013 at £9ish an hour for a 37.5hr week (£18k pro-rata).Personally, I'm an old fart and moving half-way across the country to work in a call centre in Slough is not very high on my ToDo list. But I would echo the point that you're young, you can afford to take some risks

I'm aware that the job finishes in january-Probably not worth the hassle of moving in the long run, like you say.
I've also got a job application for essentially the same type of job, only for the Next directory. The only problem is, they outsource their recruiting and the person who got in touch with me has been hopeless, and is failing to get me an interview. He hasn't even got my german script looked at yet, so I've come to the conclusion thats not going anywhere, although if I did get that, it would be brilliant.
