Vietnam end of June any recommendations

Whereabouts in Vietnam specifically, it's a big country?
Last year, we did Vietnam top to bottom, albeit a whistlestop tour... Hanoi, Halong Bay, back to Hanoi, overnight train to Hoi An, flight to Nha Trang, flight to Ho Chi Minh City, flew via Hong Kong for a few nights on way there.
Had a great time, nowhere near as commercial as Thailand (yet!) but go soon as it soon will be. It's a weird but wonderful country and very cheap indeed once you're there, the local brew really is pennies!
Please ask if you need anymore advice.

We went last year. Although we did an escorted tour, not our usual thing, we were mighty pleased we did. The roads are completely chaotic, especially in Hanoi and Ho Chi minh.
Saw some great sights and loved the people and food, we went with travelindochina and had a really small group of like minded people. We took a flight from Da Nang to Hanoi - it's a big country.
Halong bay, Hoi an, mekong delta, Cu chi tunnels are not to be missed.
PS - you cannot do it like Top gear!!

Adding Sapa - one of the best bits of 'Nam on the Chinese border, 12 hours train ride north of Hanoi, and is much, much better than the commercialised Halong BaySaw some great sights and loved the people and food, we went with travelindochina and had a really small group of like minded people.
