Fiesta Trouble
Discussion
A friend mailed me this about his fiesta, I've no idea whats going on so thought I would give it a shot here.
My Mate said:
My ford fiestas ed.....

so i jacked it up and gave it some revs while in neutral .... and the wheels spin.... i ease off ...the wheels stop :S
any ideas?
What you've posted doesn't constitute a fault, as wedge said, it's just how things are.
ALL fiestas and indeed most FWD vehicles will do it.
If your friend is suffering with a knock during straight ahead driving which comes more when under load, look towards the inner CV joints.
A knock from that area will rise and fall to a degree with vehicle/engine speed. it can sometimes be felt too as a vibration through the floor, (passenger footwell seems to be the best place to feel it due to the proximity with the gearbox).
All this however assumes your friends fiesta is knocking when driving straight ahead on smooth ground.
let us know if it's happening when turning or when going down rough road surfaces.
